Traders look beyond TradeDay mainly because its Quick Pay funded accounts pay 50% of any payout while account profit is below $4,000, and switch to an intraday trailing drawdown calculated on gross profit. Its Fast Pass path keeps end of day drawdown and pays 80%, but caps each 50K request at $1,500 and applies a 45% consistency rule once funded. TradeDay also bars trading around Tier 1 releases such as FOMC, CPI and the jobs report, and bills its evaluations monthly, from $131 for a 50K Quick Pay Intraday at list price in September 2026.

Each alternative offers futures evaluations on CME Group products and differs from TradeDay on at least one of those points. Prices are list prices at the time of review, and every firm runs frequent discounts.

Topstep

Topstep also bills monthly, but at a lower list price: $49 a month for 50K plus a $149 activation fee after passing, or $95 a month with no activation fee. It pays 90/10 from the first payout and keeps an end of day trailing limit in the Combine and the funded account. News trading is allowed, with only the full maximum position into a scheduled major release prohibited. Each request is limited to half the balance, capped at $2,000 or $3,000 on 50K depending on the payout path. Platform choice centres on TopstepX and Quantower, and positions must be flat by 3:10 pm Central time. It suits traders who pass quickly and trade news. See TradeDay vs Topstep.

Apex Trader Funding

Apex Trader Funding charges once and pays 100% of approved payouts. On 50K the Intraday version lists at $249 and the EOD version at $590, plus an $89 or $119 activation fee, and at the time of review the site showed coupons of one tenth of list. Traders can hold up to 20 Performance Accounts, and news trading is allowed with a directional strategy. The limits are strict: evaluations expire after 30 days with no resets, each account closes after six payouts, and automation is banned. Trustpilot shows 4.2 from 21,149 reviews. It suits fast, discretionary traders who run several accounts. See TradeDay vs Apex Trader Funding.

Tradeify

Tradeify sells one time evaluations with no activation fee, from $145 for Growth 50K and $165 for Select 50K, and uses end of day trailing drawdown on every account, funded included. It places no restriction on news, allows bots the trader can prove they own, and pays 90/10. Select Daily funded accounts can request a payout on any day once a buffer is cleared, capped at $1,250 on 50K. Platforms include Tradovate with NinjaTrader and TradingView, Rithmic platforms and WealthCharts. Trustpilot shows 4.4 from 4,858 reviews. It suits traders who want end of day drawdown throughout and freedom on news. See Tradeify vs Take Profit Trader.

My Funded Futures

My Funded Futures charges once, with no activation fee and no renewals. Its Rapid EOD 50K costs $209, keeps end of day drawdown when funded and pays 90/10 daily once profit clears a $2,100 buffer, with no stated cap per request. Builder 50K costs $153 and pays 80/20 every 48 hours, and it is the one plan whose funded accounts allow Tier 1 news trading. Automated strategies are allowed if they do not exploit simulated fills. Trustpilot shows 4.9 from 22,049 reviews. It suits traders who want a single fee and daily payouts at 90%. See TradeDay vs My Funded Futures.

Take Profit Trader

Take Profit Trader bills monthly, at $170 for its 50K Test plus a $130 activation fee, but its payout model differs from Quick Pay. PRO accounts can withdraw on any day from the first, with no payout window and no maximum, at 80/20, once the balance is above $52,000 on 50K. The PRO drawdown trails intraday, and PRO accounts must be flat around FOMC, Non Farm Payrolls and CPI only. More than a dozen platforms are supported through CQG and Rithmic, but bots are banned. The firm reports that 36.22% of tests taken in 2025 were passed. It suits manual traders who want early, uncapped withdrawals. See Topstep vs Take Profit Trader.

Funded Futures Family

Funded Futures Family is the closest match on billing, with monthly evaluations and no activation fee, but it allows news trading through all Tier 1 releases and pays 90/10 on every funded plan. Prime 50K costs $179 a month with a $2,000 end of day limit, no daily loss limit and no evaluation consistency rule, so it can be passed in a day. Funded Prime accounts pay every three trading days after three days of $200 profit, with a 40% consistency rule per cycle. Bots are banned, and platforms are Tradovate, NinjaTrader, TradingView through Tradovate and WealthCharts. Trustpilot shows 4.6 from 3,604 reviews. It suits news traders who prefer a monthly plan.

How to choose

Start with the rule that pushes you away from TradeDay. News traders should look at Topstep, Tradeify and Funded Futures Family, which allow trading through major releases, while Take Profit Trader restricts only FOMC, NFP and CPI on funded accounts. Traders who want 90% or more from the first payout should compare Topstep, Tradeify, My Funded Futures Rapid, Funded Futures Family and Apex. Traders who prefer a single fee should look at Apex, Tradeify and My Funded Futures. The futures prop firm drawdown rules guide and the profit split guide explain the differences in the table.
