Finding Your Fit
How do I find the prop firm that suits my trading style?
Start with the Prop Firm Quiz. It asks nine questions about what you trade, your experience, the account size, budget and platform you want, and suggests firms and programs that fit. The Compare page then filters firms by account size, profit split, daily loss limit, maximum loss, platform, assets and country, and each firm profile lists every program with its price at each account size.
How do you rate and compare firms?
The star rating shown for each firm is its Trustpilot score, which reflects traders’ reviews rather than our opinion. Our own work is the data. We read each firm’s published rules, terms and payout policy and record them in the same format for every firm, so programs can be compared side by side. Where a firm has not published a figure, its profile says it is not listed.
What is the difference between 1 Step, 2 Step, 3 Step and Instant Funding programs?
A 1 Step program has a single evaluation. You reach one profit target while staying inside the loss limits, which is the quickest route to a funded account, although the limits are often tighter. A 2 Step program splits the evaluation into two stages. The first has the larger profit target and the second checks that you can repeat the result, usually with a lower target. A 3 Step program uses three smaller stages, which lowers the target at each stage but takes longer. Instant Funding skips the evaluation and gives you a funded account straight away, usually at a higher price and with tighter rules or a lower starting profit split.
What are my options if I fail an evaluation?
That depends on the firm. Many firms sell a reset or a new attempt at a lower price, and some give a free retry if you finish the evaluation in profit without breaking a rule. Reset terms change often and are not listed for every firm, so check the firm’s own rules before you buy.
Are there discounts for traders who use Select Prop Firms?
Prices on each firm profile include the firm’s current promotion where it has one, with the list price struck through. The Exclusive Offers page lists the firms you can buy from through our links. Each firm sets its own offers and can change or end them at any time, so check the price at the firm’s checkout before you pay.
Frequently Asked Questions
About Us
What is Select Prop Firms?
Select Prop Firms is a comparison site for prop trading firms. It sets out each firm’s programs, prices, rules, payout terms and platforms in the same format, so traders can compare firms before they pay for an evaluation. The site also publishes guides and industry news, the Prop Firm Quiz and the free Select Prop Firms Journal.
How do you decide which firms to list?
We list firms that sell a funded trading program, publish their rules and are open to an affiliate partnership, because affiliate commission pays for the site. A listing is not a recommendation.
Are you independent of the firms you list?
Not fully. We earn a commission when traders buy through our links, and some firms pay for promotional placements. Firms cannot pay to change the rules, prices or Trustpilot scores we show. Where Select Prop Firms has a business connection with a firm, that firm’s profile says so. The How We Make Money page has the detail.
Do firms pay for their ranking position?
No. Firms cannot pay to change their data or their Trustpilot score, and the comparison table shows the firms that match the filters you choose. Paid promotional placements are separate from the comparison data.
How current is your information?
We check firm data regularly and update a profile when a firm changes its rules, prices or programs. Each firm profile shows the date it was last updated. Firms can change their terms without notice, so confirm the details on the firm’s own website before you buy.
Comparison Features
What can I compare between firms?
The Compare page filters firms by account size, profit split, daily loss limit, maximum loss, platform, assets and country. Each firm profile adds the price of every program at every account size, profit targets, the payout policy, leverage and commissions by market, and the firm’s trading rules where it publishes them.
Do you show payout terms and risk limits?
Yes. Each firm profile shows the profit split, daily loss limit and maximum loss for every program, and the firm’s payout policy, including payout frequency and minimum withdrawal where the firm publishes them. If a firm has not published a figure, the profile says so.
Can I filter by trading platform?
Yes. The Compare page filters firms by platform, including MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradeLocker, Match Trader and DXtrade, and each firm profile lists the platforms the firm supports.
Do you cover scaling plans and profit targets?
Profit targets are listed for each program where the firm publishes them. When we hold a firm’s scaling plan, its profile sets out how the account grows and what you need to achieve first.
Do you explain the rules that can close an account?
Each firm profile sets out the daily loss limit and maximum loss for every program, and the firm’s other trading rules where we hold them. The firm’s full terms apply over any summary, so read them before you trade.
