Lucid Trading rules in full
Max DD Type
End of day trailing on LucidPro, LucidFlex and LucidDirect (evaluation and funded). The limit follows the highest closing balance and locks at starting balance plus $100 once the balance exceeds the initial trail level (e.g. $52,100 on 50K). LucidDaily: evaluation drawdown chosen at checkout (end of day or intraday); funded accounts always intraday, with the same lock levels.
Daily DD Type
Soft breach (trading restricted until next session). LucidPro: fixed DLL $1,200 (50K), $1,800 (100K), $2,700 (150K), none on 25K per help centre; on funded accounts it becomes 60% of highest end of day profit once above the initial trail. LucidFlex and LucidDaily: optional DLL chosen at checkout ($600 to $2,700 when on). LucidDirect: none on 25K, $1,200 to $3,000 below the trail, then 60% of peak end of day profit.
News Trading
Allowed on LucidFlex, LucidPro and LucidDirect. Not allowed on LucidDaily, where trading red folder news is a hard breach.
EAs/Copy
Automated trading systems and trade copiers permitted, subject to firm rules. Prohibited: high frequency trading, hedging, and microscalping (flagged when over 50% of profit comes from trades held 5 seconds or less). Scaling in and DCA allowed; martingale discouraged.
Holding Restrictions
All positions must be closed by 4:45 pm ET Monday to Friday and are closed automatically at that time (not a breach). No swing trading on live accounts.
Consistency Rule
LucidFlex and LucidDaily: 50% in the evaluation, none funded. LucidPro: 40% per funded payout cycle (35% for accounts bought before 28 November 2025). LucidDirect: 20% per payout cycle. None on live accounts.
Minimum Trading Days
LucidPro can be passed in one day; LucidFlex and LucidDaily in two days given the 50% consistency rule. LucidFlex payouts need 5 days with minimum profit of $100 (25K), $150 (50K), $200 (100K) or $250 (150K). LucidDirect lists a minimum of 5 days to payout.
Time Limit
None; one time fee with no rebilling. An inactivity policy applies (not captured).
Leverage
Not applicable; contract limits of 2 minis (25K), 4 minis (50K), 6 minis (100K) and 10 minis (150K) or micro equivalents.
Commissions
Per side: ES, NQ, RTY, YM, NKD $1.75; MES, MNQ, M2K, MYM, MCL $0.50; CL, QM, NG $2.00; QG $1.30; GC, SI, HG, PL $2.30; MGC $0.80; SIL $1.60; currency futures $2.40; agricultural $2.80.
Fees
One time evaluation fee, no subscription, no activation fee. Resets can be bought from the dashboard (reset fees shown on the pricing cards). LucidFlex and LucidDaily: choosing the daily loss limit option lowers the price. LucidDaily: intraday evaluation drawdown is cheaper than end of day. Market data fees not stated.
Scaling rules
Scaling Plan
LucidFlex funded accounts use a scaling plan that sets contract limits by simulated profit, updated at the end of each session (e.g. 50K starts at 2 minis and reaches the 4 mini maximum at $2,000 profit). Traders enter live review after the fifth payout, large lifetime payouts or exceptional performance; LucidLive accounts start at a $0 balance with end of day drawdown, no daily loss limit and daily payouts. LucidMaxx is an invitation only eval to live plan priced by tier ($110 to $680).
Lucid Trading review
Lucid Trading is a futures prop firm with a registered address in Dover, Delaware. It sells four public plans, all for a one time fee with no monthly billing and no activation fee. LucidPro can be passed in a single day and applies a 40% consistency rule to funded payouts. LucidFlex has a 50% consistency rule in the evaluation, none once funded, and an optional daily loss limit chosen at checkout. LucidDaily lets traders pick end of day or intraday drawdown in the evaluation and then allows a payout request on any qualifying day once funded, although its funded accounts always use intraday drawdown and news trading is banned. LucidDirect skips the evaluation for $329 to $836. Account sizes run from $25,000 to $150,000, with list prices from $89 for a 25K LucidFlex evaluation. Drawdown is end of day on most accounts and locks at the starting balance plus $100 once the account passes a set level. Every plan pays 90% of profit, with a $500 minimum request and funds sent within two business days by bank transfer, PayPal through WorkMarket, or crypto. Platforms include NinjaTrader, Tradovate, TradingView and a range of Rithmic platforms.
Suits
Futures day traders who want a one time evaluation fee, no payout windows and the option to run automated strategies.
Less suited to
You want to hold positions overnight, trade news on a daily payout plan, or you live in one of the many restricted countries.
Pros
- Every plan is a one time fee with no monthly billing and no activation fee on passing.
- All plans pay 90% of profit and have no fixed payout windows.
- Automated strategies and trade copiers are permitted, subject to the firm's other rules.
- The end of day drawdown locks at the starting balance plus $100 once the account passes a set level.
- Platform choice is broad, covering NinjaTrader, Tradovate, TradingView and several Rithmic platforms.
Cons
- Payout caps are modest, such as 50% of profit up to $2,000 per request on a 50K LucidFlex account.
- LucidFlex allows only five payouts per account before the trader is reviewed for a live account.
- News trading is a hard breach on LucidDaily, and LucidDaily funded accounts use intraday drawdown.
- Positions must be closed by 4:45 pm ET, so overnight holding is not possible on simulated accounts.
- The restricted country list is long and includes South Africa, Nigeria, the Philippines and Turkey.
Verdict
Lucid Trading combines one time pricing with flexible payout timing, and its plans are clearly separated by what they ask of a trader. There are no payout windows on any plan, the split is 90% from the first payout, and the end of day drawdown locks at the starting balance plus $100, which gives a stable floor once the account is in profit. Automated strategies and trade copiers are permitted, which is less common among futures firms, and the list of CQG and Rithmic platforms is broad.
The limits sit mainly in the payout caps. LucidFlex removes the funded consistency rule but caps each request at half of profit, up to $1,000 to $3,000, and allows five payouts before the trader is reviewed for a live account. LucidPro needs a buffer of the drawdown plus $100 and a 40% consistency ratio. LucidDirect is the strictest plan, with a 20% consistency rule and a profit goal of $1,500 to $9,000 before the first request. LucidDaily is the most flexible on payouts, but it treats news trading as a hard breach and switches to intraday drawdown once funded.
Two practical points also matter. Positions must be closed by 4:45 pm ET each day, and the restricted list runs to more than 80 countries and regions, including South Africa, Nigeria and the Philippines.
Lucid suits futures day traders who want a single upfront cost, like to request payouts whenever they qualify, and may want to use automation. It is a poor fit for swing traders and for residents of the restricted countries.

Questions about Lucid Trading
How much does Lucid Trading cost?
All plans are a one time fee. List prices are $89 to $407 for LucidFlex, $123 to $410 for LucidPro and $104 to $375 for LucidDaily, depending on size and drawdown type. LucidDirect, which skips the evaluation, costs $329 to $836. There is no activation fee after passing, and resets can be bought from the trader dashboard if an evaluation is failed.
What is the Lucid Trading profit split?
All funded plans pay 90% to the trader and 10% to Lucid. The minimum request is $500, there is no fixed payout window, and approved payouts are sent within two business days. US traders can receive instant bank transfers through Plaid, while others can use WorkMarket by ADP for bank transfer or PayPal, or take crypto in BTC, ETH, LTC, USDT or USDC.
What drawdown does Lucid Trading use?
LucidPro, LucidFlex and LucidDirect use an end of day drawdown that follows the highest closing balance. Once the balance passes the initial trail level, such as $52,100 on a 50K account, the limit locks at the starting balance plus $100. LucidDaily evaluations offer end of day or intraday drawdown, but LucidDaily funded accounts always use intraday drawdown.
Does Lucid Trading have a consistency rule?
Yes, and it differs by plan. LucidFlex and LucidDaily apply 50% in the evaluation and none once funded. LucidPro can be passed in a single day and applies 40% to each funded payout cycle. LucidDirect applies 20% to each payout cycle. Once a trader is moved to a live account, no consistency requirement applies on any plan.
Can I use bots or trade copiers at Lucid Trading?
Yes. Automated trading systems and trade copiers are permitted as long as they follow the firm's rules, and the trader is responsible for any software errors. High frequency trading, hedging and microscalping are prohibited, with microscalping flagged when more than half of profits come from trades held for five seconds or less.
Which platforms does Lucid Trading support?
Lucid supports NinjaTrader, Tradovate and TradingView on CQG, and MotiveWave, Quantower, Tradesea, Sierra Chart, Jigsaw, Bookmap, ATAS, R Trader Pro and MultiCharts on Rithmic. All listed platforms work with every account type. Tradable products cover CME, CBOT, NYMEX and COMEX futures, with commissions such as $1.75 per side on ES and NQ.
