Max DD Type

Trailing 6% on Instant, 1 Step Standard and 1 Step Nano, trailing the highest closed balance and locking at the starting balance once the account is 6% in profit, after which a 1% withdrawal buffer applies. Instant Starter 5% trailing. Static 8% on 2 Step Standard and 10% on 2 Step Nano.

Daily DD Type

Fixed percentage of initial balance subtracted from the higher of balance or equity at the 5pm EST reset: 3% on Instant and 2 Step Nano, 4% on 1 Step Standard, 1 Step Nano and 2 Step Standard.

News Trading

Blue Guardian review

Blue Guardian is a prop firm run by Blue Guardian Limited in Saint Lucia, with payments handled by Iconic Exchange FZCO in Dubai. Its forex and CFD accounts trade on MetaTrader 5, Match Trader and TradeLocker and cover forex, indices, gold and other commodities, and crypto. There are five main models. Instant accounts from $5,000 to $400,000 skip the evaluation and come with a 3% daily loss limit, a 6% trailing drawdown and a 20% consistency rule. The 1 Step Standard challenge asks for a 9% target with a 4% daily limit and a 6% trailing drawdown, and the cheaper 1 Step Nano asks for 10% under the same limits with a 50% consistency rule. The 2 Step Standard uses targets of 8% and 4% with a 4% daily limit and an 8% static drawdown, while the 2 Step Nano uses targets of 8% and 5%, a 3% daily limit and a 10% static drawdown. List prices run from under $30 for a $5,000 1 Step Nano to $2,200 for a $400,000 Instant account. None of the challenges has a time limit. News trading is allowed during challenges but restricted around high impact releases on funded accounts, and funded Standard and Instant accounts use an automatic Guardian Shield that closes all trades at a set floating loss.

Verdict

Blue Guardian offers a broad CFD lineup, and the choice of model matters more than usual because the rules differ sharply between them. The 2 Step Standard is the most conventional option, with an 8% static drawdown, a 4% daily limit, an 85% split and payouts every 14 days. The 1 Step Standard is quicker to pass on paper but relies on a 6% trailing drawdown that only locks at the starting balance once the account is 6% in profit. The Nano accounts are cheaper, but they add a 50% consistency rule, and the 2 Step Nano caps each payout at 2% of the starting balance, which limits how much a funded trader can take out in any cycle. Instant accounts suit traders who want to skip an evaluation, although a 3% daily limit, a 20% consistency rule, five profitable days and a Guardian Shield that closes all trades at a 1% floating loss make them demanding to run.
