FTMO Futures rules in full
Max DD Type
End of day trailing on both plans: the limit follows the highest prior closing balance and locks permanently at the starting balance once it reaches it. Breaches are measured on intraday equity. Growth: $2,000 (50K), $3,500 (100K), $5,000 (150K). Pro: $3,000, $4,500 and $6,000.
Daily DD Type
Growth: none in the evaluation; once funded a soft limit of $1,000, $2,000 or $3,000 flattens positions and pauses trading for the day without losing the account. Pro: a hard limit of $1,000, $1,500 or $2,000 in the evaluation and when funded, and a breach ends the account. The trading day runs 6:00 pm to 4:10 pm ET.
Consistency Rule
Evaluation only: the best day must be no more than 40% of total profit on Growth or 50% on Pro. Breaking it is not a breach; the trader keeps trading until it is met. None once funded.
Minimum Trading Days
None stated; the consistency rule means at least 3 days on Growth and 2 on Pro. Payouts need 4 qualifying days per cycle on Growth ($150, $250 or $300 profit each) and 5 on Pro ($200, $300 or $500).
Time Limit
None. The subscription renews monthly until the trader passes. Funded accounts with no activity for 30 days get a warning and close after a further 30.
Leverage
Not applicable; contract limits of 5, 10 and 15 minis (10 micros count as 1 mini). Funded accounts start lower (2, 4 or 6 contracts) and scale up with profit.
News Trading
Allowed in every phase.
Holding Restrictions
Intraday only. All positions must be flat and resting orders cancelled by 4:10 pm ET (or the earlier market close) each day; open positions are liquidated automatically. No overnight or weekend holding. No new positions within 2% of the CME daily price limit.
EAs/Copy
Algorithmic trading is allowed, except HFT, latency arbitrage and other exploitative automation; strategies must be the trader's own. Copying a third party is banned, copying between your own accounts is allowed. Hedging across accounts or firms is banned.
Commissions
$0.50 per side on minis and $0.20 per side on micros, plus exchange and NFA fees. Level 1 CME data included.
Fees
Monthly subscription: Growth $119, $169, $229 and Pro $139, $199, $269 for 50K, 100K and 150K; the prices shown here are per month. No activation fee, and billing stops once the trader passes. Resets $109 to $259, not refundable.
Scaling rules
Scaling Plan
Sim-Funded contract limits rise with profit above the starting balance (for example 2, 3 then 5 contracts on 50K). Up to 3 Sim-Funded accounts ($450K). Traders may be invited to a live funded account at a third party broker, starting at $0 profit with daily uncapped payouts; on transfer only the single highest eligible Sim payout is paid.
FTMO Futures review
FTMO Futures is the futures arm of FTMO, the Prague prop firm founded in 2015, launched on 17 September 2026. It is run by FTMO s.r.o. in the Czech Republic, with US traders served by JV Prop Corporation in Delaware. Traders take a one step evaluation on CME Group futures through NinjaTrader, Tradovate or TradingView, at $50,000, $100,000 or $150,000. There are two plans. Growth costs $119 to $229 a month, has no daily loss limit in the evaluation and a 40% consistency rule. Pro costs $139 to $269 a month, has a hard daily loss limit, a wider drawdown, a 50% consistency rule and lets traders withdraw all of their profit. Both use an end of day trailing drawdown that locks at the starting balance, have no time limit and no activation fee, and pay a 90% split. The subscription stops once the trader passes.
Suits
Intraday CME futures traders who want an established firm, end of day trailing drawdown, no time limit and a 90% split.
Less suited to
You hold futures overnight, live in Australia, or want a one time fee rather than a monthly subscription.
Pros
- Backed by FTMO, a firm with ten years of history and a 4.8 Trustpilot score from over 55,000 reviews.
- End of day trailing drawdown that locks permanently at the starting balance.
- No time limit, no activation fee, and the subscription stops when you pass.
- 90% profit split with a $20 minimum payout.
- News trading allowed in every phase, on NinjaTrader, Tradovate and TradingView.
- Growth plan has no daily loss limit in the evaluation.
Cons
- Monthly subscription from $119, more than many futures evaluations.
- Growth traders can withdraw only 50% of their profit, and every request is capped.
- Pro's daily loss limit is hard and ends the account, even when funded.
- Strictly intraday: all positions closed by 4:10 pm ET.
- Not available in Australia or five US states.
Verdict
FTMO brings ten years of payout history and one of the best known names in prop trading to futures, and it shows in how clearly the product is laid out. The targets are standard (6% of the account), the drawdown is end of day trailing rather than intraday, and it locks for good at the starting balance. There is no time limit, no activation fee and no minimum trading days beyond what the consistency rule implies, and the subscription is cancelled automatically when the trader passes.
The two plans suit different traders. Growth is the cheaper and gentler route: no daily loss limit in the evaluation and only a soft daily pause once funded, but traders can withdraw 50% of their profit, capped at $2,500 to $4,000 a request. Pro costs about $20 to $40 more a month and has a hard daily limit that ends the account, but its drawdown is wider and traders withdraw 100% of their profit, up to $5,000 to $8,000 a request.
Payouts come every four qualifying days on Growth and every five on Pro, with a 90% split and a $20 minimum. Successful traders are invited to a real live account with daily, uncapped payouts and FTMO paying for CME market data.
A few points need attention. Trading is strictly intraday, with every position closed by 4:10 pm ET. The move to live is FTMO's decision, and on transfer only the single highest eligible Sim payout is paid. The service is not available in Australia or in five US states. The futures product is new, so its own payout record is short, though FTMO's 4.8 Trustpilot score from over 55,000 reviews speaks for the wider firm.
FTMO Futures suits intraday futures traders who want a big, established firm with end of day drawdown, no time limit and a 90% split.
