My Funded Futures vs Topstep
My Funded Futures and Topstep both pay 90/10 on a 50K futures account, but they differ on how you pay, how the drawdown behaves once funded and how often you can withdraw.
My Funded Futures suits futures day traders who want a one time fee, a choice of payout styles and daily payouts on its Rapid plan, and who can manage an intraday trailing drawdown once funded. Topstep suits traders who expect to pass quickly and want the lowest monthly entry price, an end of day drawdown that carries into the funded account and freedom to trade scheduled news with normal size. Both pay 90/10 on their main plans, so the choice turns on cost structure, funded drawdown and payout timing.
All prices are list prices at the time of review in September 2026. Both firms run frequent discounts, so the checkout price is often lower.

Rules and drawdown
Every My Funded Futures evaluation and the Topstep Combine use a $2,000 end of day trailing maximum loss on 50K. The funded stage is where they differ. Topstep’s Express Funded Account starts at a $0 balance and keeps an end of day trailing limit, which locks at $0 once the balance reaches $2,000 and resets to $0 after any payout. My Funded Futures Rapid switches to an intraday trailing limit once funded, following the equity high including open profit, and locks once it reaches $100. Intraday trailing is harder to manage because unrealised gains that are later given back still move the floor. For traders who want end of day drawdown throughout, My Funded Futures offers Rapid EOD at the same $209 on 50K, with a 30% consistency rule and a four day minimum in the evaluation. The mechanics are explained in trailing vs static drawdown.
Neither main plan forces a daily loss limit. Topstep offers an optional $1,000 limit that pauses trading for the session. Rapid has none, while the cheaper My Funded Futures Builder plan carries a soft $1,000 limit on 50K and can be passed in one day with no consistency rule.
Consistency in the evaluation is close: 50% on Rapid and 55% at Topstep, both with a two day minimum. Once funded, Rapid has no consistency rule, and Topstep applies a 40% target only on its Consistency payout path. See prop firm consistency for how these rules are calculated.
News is a real difference. Topstep allows news trading and only bans taking the full maximum position directly into a scheduled major release. My Funded Futures allows Tier 1 news trading in evaluations and on Builder funded accounts, but not on Rapid, Rapid EOD or Pro funded accounts. Both firms require positions to be flat at the same time of day, 4:10 pm Eastern, which is Topstep’s 3:10 pm Central close. Position limits on 50K are 5 minis at My Funded Futures Rapid and 5 minis or 50 micros at Topstep. My Funded Futures also applies a 7 day inactivity rule.
Pricing, resets and activation fees
My Funded Futures charges once, with no activation fee and no renewals. On 50K, Builder costs $153, or $125 with a smaller $1,500 drawdown, Rapid and Rapid EOD cost $209 and Pro costs $265. At the time of review the site showed a 40% discount and a 50% discount on a first evaluation for new traders. Reset prices and market data fees were not published on the pages reviewed.
Topstep bills the Combine monthly until the trader passes or cancels, with one free reset credit at each rebill. The Standard 50K costs $49 a month plus $149 on passing, so passing within one month costs $198 and within two months $247. The No Activation Fee path costs $95 a month, or $85 with the optional daily loss limit added at checkout, and nothing on passing. Level 1 data is included, and TopstepX commissions are $3.78 per round turn on ES and NQ. A fast pass therefore costs less at Topstep, while a slower one can cost more than the single My Funded Futures fee.
Payouts
Rapid is built around frequent withdrawals. Once funded, traders can request a payout daily from 24 hours after the first funded trade, provided profit has cleared the $2,100 buffer on 50K, and the minimum request is $500. My Funded Futures says most payouts are approved automatically, with manual reviews taking 6 to 12 business hours. Payments go through Riseworks by bank transfer or crypto, or by Plaid ACH for US traders. A Rapid account moves to live automatically after $10,000 net profit in a single trading day, or after a risk team review. Builder and Pro pay 80/20 instead, every 48 hours and every 14 days respectively.
Topstep pays 90/10 from the first qualifying payout. Each Express Funded request can take up to half the balance, capped at $2,000 on the Standard path or $3,000 on the Consistency path for 50K, doubled with the Responsible Trading Advantage. The minimum is $125, US traders on Aeropay can be paid instantly after approval if their bank supports real time payments, and ACH and wire transfers cost $30.
Both firms publish results. My Funded Futures reports that 19.97% of evaluation participants completed the objectives and that 39.2% of traders who reached the simulated funded stage earned at least one payout. Topstep reports that 16.8% of Trading Combines were completed in 2025 and that 33.3% of funded traders received a payout.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is My Funded Futures or Topstep cheaper for a 50K account?
It depends on how quickly you pass. Topstep's Standard 50K costs $49 a month plus a $149 activation fee, so passing within a month costs $198. My Funded Futures Rapid 50K costs $209 once and Builder 50K costs $153, with no activation fee and no renewals. The longer the evaluation takes, the more the one time fee tends to favour My Funded Futures.
Does the My Funded Futures drawdown change once funded?
On the standard Rapid plan it does. The evaluation uses an end of day trailing limit, but the funded account uses an intraday trailing limit that follows open profit and locks once it reaches $100. Rapid EOD keeps an end of day limit when funded, and Builder and Pro also trail on an end of day basis.
How often can I withdraw at My Funded Futures and Topstep?
My Funded Futures Rapid allows daily requests from 24 hours after the first funded trade, once profit clears the buffer, with a $500 minimum. Topstep allows a request each time the payout path is met: five winning days of $150 on the Standard path, or three trading days on the Consistency path, with each request capped at half the balance.
Can I trade news on a funded account at either firm?
Topstep allows news trading, but not with the full maximum position size placed directly into a scheduled major release. My Funded Futures allows Tier 1 news trading in evaluations and on Builder funded accounts, but not on Rapid, Rapid EOD or Pro funded accounts. Traders who rely on news releases should choose their plan with this in mind.
Which platforms can I use at My Funded Futures and Topstep?
My Funded Futures supports Tradovate, NinjaTrader, TradingView, Quantower, Volumetrica, DeepChart and ATAS. Topstep centres on its own TopstepX platform, which uses TradingView charts, and its help centre covers a Quantower connection. Automation is allowed at My Funded Futures within its fair play rules, and at Topstep through the paid TopstepX API.
