Think Capital review

Rules and prices checked on 28 September 2026 against Think Capital’s own website and terms.

ThinkCapital is the prop trading brand associated with the broker ThinkMarkets. Its services are provided by TFG (Payments) Limited, a company registered in London, and all accounts are simulated. Traders use ThinkMarkets' ThinkTrader platform, which connects to TradingView, and the site also refers to a MetaTrader 5 option. There are four programs. Lightning is a one step challenge with a 10% target, a 3% daily limit and a 6% trailing limit, from $59 for $5,000 to $499 for $100,000. Dual Step is a two step challenge sold in Intraday and Swing versions, with targets of 9% and 5% on the site, a 4% daily limit and an 8% funded limit, priced from $59 to $698. Nexus spreads targets of 7%, 6% and 5% over three steps with a 4% daily and 8% overall limit, from $39 to $349. Bolt is an instant account from $49 for $2,500 to $599 for $50,000. There is no time limit, and challenges need three trading days. The profit split reaches 90%, payouts run every 14 days from $100, and traders can be paid in USDT, through Rise or into a ThinkMarkets live account. News trading and weekend holding depend on the program.

Suits

TradingView users who want a low cost multi step challenge and the option to move payouts into a ThinkMarkets live account.

Less suited to

You live in Australia, Vietnam or another restricted country, or you want to run EAs outside MetaTrader 5 without approval or a paid add on.

Pros

  • Nexus three step challenges start at $39 for $5,000, and Lightning one step challenges at $59.
  • ThinkTrader connects to TradingView, so orders can be placed from TradingView charts.
  • There is no time limit on any challenge.
  • Payouts can go straight into a personal ThinkMarkets live account in supported countries.
  • Dual Step Swing allows news trading and weekend holding by default.

Cons

  • Lightning pairs a 3% daily limit with a 6% trailing maximum loss.
  • News trading is blocked on Lightning and Nexus without a paid add on, and on Dual Step Intraday.
  • EAs are allowed by default only on MetaTrader 5 accounts; elsewhere they need written approval or an add on.
  • The Rise payout method carries a $50 monthly fee.
  • Trustpilot withheld the firm's rating in September 2026, citing a breach of its guidelines.

Verdict

ThinkCapital's appeal rests on its link to ThinkMarkets and the ThinkTrader platform, which lets traders place orders from TradingView charts, and on entry prices from $39 for a three step Nexus account. Nexus is the cheapest route but needs three passes, Dual Step Swing is the choice for traders who hold over weekends or trade the news, and Lightning is quick but combines a 3% daily limit with a 6% trailing maximum. Some figures differ between the challenge page and the terms, such as the Dual Step first phase target, which is 9% on the site and 8% in the terms, so traders should confirm the rules shown at checkout. The broker relationship offers practical benefits rather than regulatory ones. Funded traders can move payouts into a personal ThinkMarkets live account, which the firm presents as a way to build a personal brokerage account, although this is not available in several countries, including the United States. The terms state that the provider, TFG (Payments) Limited, is not authorised or regulated anywhere, and that its affiliation with ThinkMarkets does not extend the broker's regulatory permissions, client money protections or compensation arrangements. EAs are allowed by default only on MetaTrader 5 accounts, and the Rise payout method carries a $50 monthly fee. Trustpilot listed 612 reviews in September 2026 but withheld the rating, citing a breach of its guidelines. ThinkCapital suits TradingView users who want a low cost multi step challenge and a route into a ThinkMarkets account.

Questions about Think Capital

Is ThinkCapital owned by ThinkMarkets?

ThinkCapital describes itself as backed by and partnered with ThinkMarkets. Its services are provided by TFG (Payments) Limited, registered in London, and the terms state that the customer's contract is with that company alone. They also state that the ThinkMarkets affiliation does not extend the broker's regulatory permissions, client money protections or compensation arrangements to ThinkCapital customers.

How much does ThinkCapital cost?

List prices in September 2026 were $59 to $499 for Lightning and for Dual Step Intraday from $5,000 to $100,000, $82 to $698 for Dual Step Swing and $39 to $349 for the Nexus three step challenge. Bolt instant accounts cost from $49 for $2,500 up to $599 for $50,000, before any discount codes.

What is the ThinkCapital profit split?

The site advertises a profit split of up to 90%, with its calculator showing 80% and 90% options and the terms listing a 90% profit split add on. Payouts run every 14 days, or every 7 days with an add on, need at least $100, and require three profitable days of at least 0.5% in the funded stage.

Does ThinkCapital allow news trading?

It depends on the program. Lightning and Nexus block trading from 2 minutes before to 2 minutes after scheduled news unless the news add on is bought. Dual Step Intraday does not allow news trading, while Dual Step Swing allows it by default. Bolt instant accounts use a wider window of 5 minutes either side of the release.

Which platforms does ThinkCapital use?

ThinkCapital runs on ThinkTrader, the ThinkMarkets platform, which integrates with TradingView so traders can trade directly from TradingView charts. The site and terms also refer to a MetaTrader 5 option, where Expert Advisors are allowed by default. Clients in the United States are limited to the ThinkTrader platform.

How do ThinkCapital payouts work?

Payouts can be sent in USDT on TRC20 or ERC20, through Rise, which carries a $50 monthly fee, or into a personal ThinkMarkets live account where ThinkMarkets accepts clients. All positions must be closed when a request is made, and the firm says requests are processed within 3 business days.
